Faith development, like physical fitness, is an on-going process from womb to tomb. No matter how young we are, we are always being influenced and formed by what we observe. And we are never too old to learn more.

As a Christian community, each of us is responsible for monitoring each other's faith. Each of us has talents and gifts and faith - experiences to share. Thus, we each are called to share and to participate in the faith development programs in our parish.

The programs simply help the process of faith development. When it comes to our faith, we never "know it all" and have nothing to offer members of our faith community.

I invite and urge every parishioner to volunteer for some aspect of this ministry. The children need your caring. The young people need to know what motivates your faith. Your peers need your fidelity and example. The older people need your interest as they offer the wealth of their experience.

Let us "keep the flame of faith alive in our hearts" (baptismal rite) by being dynamically involved in the marvelous process of faith development!
