This past week we have gone through a litany of emotions. We had the cheers of Jesus entering into the city of David, Jerusalem. We had fear when Jesus was taken away from the Garden of Gethsemane. We heard the jeers as Jesus carried His cross to Calvary. We had the tears when seeing His death upon that cross He carried at Golgotha. And now, the incredulity that goes beyond our wildest expectation, we are surprised, shocked and struggling to get our minds wrapped around the news that the women of our group bring to us this day! The report of He being alive is beyond our hopes and dreams. From denial of His death that some of us accented, we have now come full circle to try to understand what has taken place. He is alive! He has risen! Alleluia! It is hard to grasp how such a rollercoaster of emotions has gripped us this entire week. The gamut of feelings has us in a whirlwind. Do we dare hope that was has been reported by members of our own group can indeed be true? Or what they have reported is merely their own wishful thinking and hopes? Yet, they can be trusted. They have shown their worth and their truth in times past. So why, even though the news is beyond belief, would we doubt what they have told us? And now we are told, that what Mary of Magdala first shared with us, has been confirmed by Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved! Incredulous! Unbelievable! Wait a minute! Did Jesus not tell us that something along these lines would occur? Did He not tell us something – over and over again – about the resurrection? Then it MUST be true! Alleluia! Alleluia! The Lord is indeed alive! The Lord indeed has risen!
