Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord has been transferred from Thursday to Sunday, May 12. Therefore, the Ascension of the Lord readings shall be used on that Sunday. Easter Season concludes with Pentecost Sunday on May 19. Ministry UpdatesThere is a project to change the position numbers in a way so the positions are numbered in order from the left to the right wing of the church. Before implementing the change the meeting/training will be held for the Ministers of Communion. As of now, there is a lot of confusion among them because of the position #8, which happens to be in the middle of the church which no one can remember. The sign in books for these ministers and the lectors are being used. So far, we have dropped 3 Eucharistic Ministers off the schedule, after discovering they are no longer available to serve. The sign in book is designated to find the areas for improvement. As for now, Mass captains often tell the EM’s where to go. We need to recruit more Eucharistic Ministers, Greeters, Altar Servers, and Choir Members. The announcement will be made in the bulletin in order to find more volunteers, with the pulpit talk to follow soon after this…The Ministry list is in the process of update, and when ready, will be forwarded to our scheduler, Rick Stockstill, who will take care of scheduling EM’s, greeters, and Altar Servers. The lectors will still be scheduled by Jamie Briseno. Lucy is planning to obtain the list of the ministers serving the Spanish Masses, for reference and future training purposes. Music Licenses All licenses have been renewed this year. Because almost everybody uses the songs licensed by CCLI, we consider dropping the extra licenses once they are found not being needed. It could be more economical to pay per the song reprint, when needed. The usage will be closely monitored. Lucy needs to be informed of all services at which music is to be utilized Final Items Mary Giniewski mentioned that the new Communion cups started deteriorating due to improper purification process. She noticed that the wine is often left in the cups for longer time than necessary. Doug will take care of purification after 12 PM Mass. She also talked about the possibility of using the church funds to supplement the flower arrangements for the main altar. Kevin mentioned the arrangements need to be larger so we should go to the $100 size and we need a Flower Fund in the budget. The meeting was concluded with the Prayer led by Fr. Martin…OUR CHURCH VALUES YOUR DEDICATION TO OUR CATHOLIC FAITH AND COMMUNITY. MAY GOD BLESS YOU FOR YOUR GIFT OF TIME AND TALENT
