Old Business 1. Election Process – John updated the PPC on the election process that is to take place the weekend of April 20 – May 1st at all Masses. The necessary documentation, pictures and biographies are in hand. The poster boards will be up the two weeks prior to the election: April 16-17 and April 23-24. The following parishioners have agreed to nomination for the three-year assignment from 2016-2019. The four female nominees are: Susan Kent, Jennifer Bishop, Maria Engler and Catalína Quintana. The four male nominees are: Cal Morton, Vincent Lewis, John Kuderer and Jimmy Quintero. A sample ballot will also be in the bulletin as we get closer to the weekend for electing four new members to the PPC – two female and two male.
2. Ministry List – Reports on some of the ministries that are part of Holy Trinity were reported on. Lonnie reported on Alzheimer’s, Divorced and Separated and Nursing Home Ministry. Yolanda reported on the Catholic Daughters of America, That Man Is You and Knights of Columbus. John K. reported on Bridges Beyond Grief, Spanish Lectors and Stephen Ministry. Noelia reported on Homebound and Comunidad de Matrimonios. Christina reported on the Divine Mercy Cenacle and Endow. The consistent comments were the various ministries were pleased with what was happening with their particular ministry in the parish.
3. Virtus Recommendations – The PPC dialogued on this aspect of the Archdiocese. The old OVASE is being replaced with Virtus. John K. gave us an update on the process. It was sent originally for 3-3.5 hours. After consultation, it has been reduced to1.5 hours. This can also be taken online. There are different online videos as compared to the face-to-face process. The PPC will make recommendations to Msgr. Mike as to which ministries need to be part of the Virtus experience. A blanket umbrella would be those who are seen as vulnerable, e.g., catechists who teach children. The process is good for three (3) years.
4. Ministry Appreciation Dinner – It is scheduled for Wednesday, May 11th, 7-9PM in the Banquet Hall. More details as we get closer to the event.
5. New Business – Two items were suggested by the PPC. To develop a Master Calendar for the various facilities and their booking. Msgr. Mike will check with George on this…Questions about the Banquet Hall usage came up: Who takes care of the sound system in the BH? Do we let anyone run it? Who is qualified on staff to run the system? Do renters have the right to the sound system and other AV equipment we have? Who makes sure it is handled correctly? These questions will be passed onto the Facilities Management.
Msgr. Mike – reported on the following items:
a. Savings Account Update: Since the 2014-2015 Fiscal Year as well as 2015-2016, he has instructed that 10% of each weekly collection be set aside for the renovation of the new property. As of February 29, 2016, we have a total of $521,744.33.
b. Tricia Heck sent via email the most recent update on the property renovation. This comes from Jim Heck who is our architect. Msgr. Mike sent a letter to Archbishop Gustavo last week requesting his "conceptual approval" to proceed with the master planning, programming and schematic design for the new site and ministry building...Jim Heck I will deliver our architectural contract tomorrow to Bob Holbrook, Director of Construction Real Estate & Facilities for the Archdiocese…Once the Church receives the Archbishop's approval letter, our contract will be sent to him for signature…As of the last Council meeting, I have received input from one person on the Church Council (Lonnie Morris) and also received input from the Assistant Youth Minister, Renee Kuntz. I imagine I will get more input once we come up with an initial draft of the building program…I am compiling a preliminary program based upon Msgr. Mike's input as well as Lonnie Morris's and Renee Kuntz's plus the survey results and other input received last year by the Facility Expansion Committee.
