· Opening Prayer: Msgr. Mike led the Staff meeting with an opening prayer.
· John: He offered a thank you to the Faith Formation personnel for exiting the building as quickly as
they did. It was done within three (3) minutes. The fire alarm went off; malfunction took place in the compressor for the sprinkler system. Elevator was in non-use until fixed. Target date for this is today.
· Lizzette: The Archdiocese is implementing a new payroll system. It begins July 2012 with the new
fiscal year. There are for employees both exempt and non-exempt forms. There are new tax exempt forms for 2012. If changing your withholding allowance, these need to be updated. For non-exempt employees, time sheets need to be signed and turned in. Payroll will be bi-weekly. Staff will get dates for the pay days…If your invoice has been paid by credit card, please identify that the invoice has been paid in this manner.
· Craig: We have had nine (9) funerals since last November 2011. We do not usually have that many
…PPC approved the sponsorship for altar flowers. The details are to be worked out. The estimated cost is $100 for a weekly arrangement. We will advertise in the bulletin this availability. We will also identify the donor in the weekly bulletin as well. Flowers could be donated for anniversaries, birthdays, marriages remembrance of a loved one or any other special occasion.
· Kristin: She reported on the following items: Enrollment - Total enrollment for Elementary Faith
Formation as of Wednesday, January 11, 2012: Total = 813. We are at full enrollment. We have ninety (90) catechists as well…Sacramental Preparation – We had 157 children celebrate the Sacrament of Penance for the first time during the Advent and Christmas seasons…The next parent / child workshop for children preparing to celebrate the Sacrament of the Eucharist will be held on January 30th and February 1st during regular class times in the Gathering Areas. There are 176 children preparing to receive Eucharist for the first time…MLK Holiday – There will be no Faith Formation classes on January 16th and 18th and the Faith Formation Office will be closed on Monday, January 16th, in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday…Meetings – Kristin and Eric attended the Northeast / North Central Deanery meeting on Tuesday, January 10th at St. Pius X. The next meeting will be Tuesday, February 14th, at St. Thomas Moore, from 11:30AM-2PM…We will be attending the Mid-Winter Gathering on Thursday, February 23rd, at St. Luke, from 8:30AM-4PM…Faith Formation Building Issues – We are in the process of compiling a list of repairs / renovations for the Faith Formation Building to give to John per his request…Questions – These were posed and responded to. What are the procedures at Holy Trinity in case of fire? How often should our campus be inspected by the Fire Marshall? What is the policy if someone loses their Communion certificate?
· Eric: He attended a Young Adult retreat at St. Mark’s in early January 2012. He is also listed as one
of the “ambassadors” for the Archdiocese of San Antonio for this ministry. There is a conference on YA that is also coming up. There is a joint effort among Holy Trinity, St. Mark and Padre Pio for instituting a Young Adult Ministry in these parishes. It is at the planning stage. Deacon David Seguin is taking on this responsibility as well…He will also follow up with what is our wi-fi strength and what is the security of our system as well.
· Debbie:Confirmation with Bishop Oscar Cantu is taking place on Saturday, June 9th, 11AM. We
were instructed to only offer one day per month when the requests went out. We have about 100 confirmandi. Other parishes can be a resource for Confirmation candidates if this date does not work out. We had our first ever “all boys” retreat at Deer Creek Camp, January 7-8th. We had twenty-eight (28) high school boys on this retreat. Total attendance with the team members was thirty-four (34)…We are looking at a summer venue at Deer Creek as well. This would be a strictly “Catholic Week”, focusing on our Catholic identity.
· Gloria:Staff will have its picture taken on February 8th for the Pictorial Directory. Dates for the
registration is January 14-15; January 21-22 and January 28-29. The actual picture taking will be January 31st. One can sign-up on line. Angel Room in the church is the location for the picture taking… We had 175 people show up for our most recent Welcome New Parishioner Dinner. This took place on January 11th. Staff who spoke included Deacon Guy, and his wife, Goldie, Lo Turco; John Dulske, Gloria Barretto, Fr. Martin, Dr. Antonio Ramirez, Msgr. Mike and Cecilia Greene…She is requesting that two (2) staff members proofread the bulletin before it is sent out. This can rotate amongst the entire staff. She would offer a hard copy and use “red” ink for any corrections…She recently shared that the Staff “Vision Statement” can be hard to live out!...Ministry Appreciation Dinner is scheduled for Sunday, February 12th, 2:30-4:30PM in the Banquet Hall. Anyone who is involved with ministry at HT is welcome to come. We do need reservations for this. Call the Office with the number of your family who are coming.
· Ana Rosa: The current number of updated households is 1192. Msgr. Mike reminded the Staff
that a follow up letter will be going to those who have NOT updated their census. The list of names only of our households will be placed eventually in the bulletin as well. Those who DO NOT update will be placed on the inactive list.
· Msgr. Mike: He reported on the following items. Habitat for Humanity – The parish is doing a full
build in honor of our 25th anniversary as a parish. We will also do a “Joshua Build” on Tuesday, March 13th. This will be the framing here at HT. It provides an opportunity for some of our young people who cannot get to the site to help in the build. The date is during Spring Break. The total cost is $55K. Moneys came from the Sharing Fund...One Parish: Unity Meeting – Craig and he will meet with Dr. Antonio Ramirez, a part time member of the staff who does counseling. He is also on the staff at MACC. He will offer a process for the staff, our leadership and the parish as a whole. More information on this as it becomes available…Ash Wednesday Schedule – Msgr. Mike gave a copy of the schedule services for the beginning of Lent to the staff…Penitential Service – The parish Penitential Service for Lent will be on Wednesday, March 7th, 7PM…Staff went over the upcoming schedule of events in the parish and the various staff schedules.
