Mandy Majors nextTalk: Parenting in a Digital World, answering the question "How do we keep our kids safe online?"
FREE and OPEN to PUBLIC. 18+ only.
Holy Trinity Catholic Church invites all parents and grandparents of school-age (and pre-school-age) children to attend Mandy's eye-opening, dynamic, constructive talk about the (often unknown) challenges to raising kids in a digital world, and practical solutions for each family to consider when addressing those challenges.
Personal note from Paula Hilliard, TOB coordinator/volunteer: "The 501(c)(3) nextTalk started in a church with a group of parents from Comal County who were overwhelmed with the new challenges of cyberparenting. Now, nextTalk has gone worldwide and has a podcast in the top 5% of podcasts.
Why? The message is so needed.
Parents (and their kids) do not face the same challenges we faced in the 80s or 90s, and once we realize it, we can feel overwhelmed or unsure how to manage or approach threats to innocence and safety.
You do not want to miss this talk!
Those who attend are highly likely to leave with information they never expected to learn, and a firm plan to begin parenting - or grand-parenting - in a different way, based on Mandy's talk. The differences may be slight, they may be huge, but in my experience and from all other accounts, this presentation will be worth your time.
It is a great blessing for the Holy Trinity parish to host this event, and to be able to invite adult friends from the community to attend, at no charge to attendees.
Please invite friends. This is a gift to the community from our parish.
For those with younger children, we unfortunately will not offer childcare, so please begin making arrangements now for a sitter or relative who can enable you (ideally dads and moms) to come hear this exceptional presentation.
I invite you to explore Mandy's website, read her mission statement, check out her podcast, find resources, and Mark Your Calendar for Mach 29th, 7pm!"
