FINANCE COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS
The Finance Council met on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 12:30 p.m.
In attendance were Vicki Weynand, Craig Koett, Gonzalo Bautista, David Kiolbassa, Eric Zeitler, Cecilia Greene, Maria Noli Childs and Msgr. Mike Yarbrough. Absent was Fr. Martin.Msgr Mike opened with a prayer, a delicious soup was provided by Gonzalo and the
following items were discussed:
1. The council formally adopted the Investment Policy and all Council members signed and dated the document.
2. Cecilia then reported that the unlimited FDIC insurance on commercial noninterest checking accounts expires on 12/31/12. The council was not overly concerned about this, since the parish will be transferring monies to the Catholic Community Foundation and there will no longer be a large balance in the checking account. Cecilia also agreed to contact the Catholic Community Foundation about opening an account with them and it was decided that the council will have a conference call to discuss which investment models to adopt. The council agreed on the initial amount to be transferred to the Foundation.
3. David reported that he is finishing his letter to Next Financial requesting a settlement figure. It will be completed, and faxed with the original sent to Gary @ Next Financial.
4. There being no further business, the next meeting date is Wednesday, January 30, 12:30pm.
