Martinez. Excused: Cecilia Greene, Ana Rosa Lane, Fr. Martin Garcia. Opening Prayer: John led the Staff in an opening prayer. Ana Rosa: Msgr. Mike reported for her in her absence. She informed the Staff that as of August 31st, we had a total of 1,744 families updated their registration. This number included new families as well. Kristin: She reported on the following: Enrollment – Total enrollment for elementary Faith Formation as of Tuesday, September 4, 2012 was the following: Pre K – 24; Good Shepherd – 36; Kindergarten – 65; 1st Grade – 98; 2nd Grade – 121; 3rd Grade – 140; 4th Grade – 89; 5th Grade – 76; Home School – 29; Total is 679. First day of class is September 17/19…Catechists – We currently have 85 Catechists / Assistants who will be teaching our Faith Formation classes. We still need 3 more catechists to meet the Archdiocese’s requirement of 2 adults per classroom…Our Catechist In-Service will be held September 12th, at 10AM and 7PM in the Gathering Area of the Faith Formation Building. Catechists will receive their teaching materials, class lists and instruction on how to pan and carry out a lesson…All catechists will receive a blessing at Mass on Catechetical Sunday, September 15-16th. I have included the Catechist Prayer from USCCB…Deanery Meeting – Kristin and Eric will be attending a Deanery Meeting at Blessed Sacrament on Tuesday, September 11th, from 11:30-2:30PM…Sacramental Preparation – We have 175 children who will be preparing for the sacraments of Penance and Eucharist. The first parent/child workshop will be held on October 15/17 during regular class times. At least one parent must attend this class with their child. Msgr. Mike and Fr. Martin will be teaching the workshops on November 12/14 like last year. This is for the Sacrament of Penance. The children’s Penance Service is scheduled for Saturday, December 1st at 10AM...Faith Formation Building – The FF building has been painted! We are looking to have the building blessed again in October to begin the Year of Faith, which starts October 11, 2012. Craig: A reminder that when we have short work weeks, like the current one, other difficulties arise with duties and responsibilities. Perhaps to use an alternate week for staff meeting would be better. Please help refill the refrigerator when you are able. John: He has received bids for the audio change in the Gathering Area of the FF Building. Due to the estimated cost, these will have to go through the Archdiocesan offices. All pastors currently have a limit of $10K that they can spend without approval from the Pastoral Center. The estimated cost for this is $16K. Also, repair work needs to be done on the Pavilion. Bids are needed on this. Estimated cost is around $17K. There are some additional areas of the FF Building that will need renovation…Church Sign to be replaced after car accident. Insurance will cover this. Gloria: We have our Welcome New Parishioner Dinner this evening, September 5th, 7:15PM in the Banquet Hall. We have about 100 attending…Senior Luncheon is scheduled for November 14th, 11AM, with Mass and Anointing of the Sick and lunch to follow. This will be in the Banquet Hall…The Pictorial Directory is being handed out. We have about 400 left, which includes those who have not yet picked up their free copy. These are available at $10 each. We are looking for another weekend to help hand them out…Year of Faith is a universal church celebration. We will be participating in it. The year begins October 11, 2012 through November 24, 2013. Deb: Registration is going on for the Edge (Middle School), Confirmation and Life Teen. The numbers are not yet complete. She is looking for some Core Members for Edge; she is in need of some Confirmation teachers; Craig and she will be talking today on the new Edge Coordinator…There is an Archdiocesan-wide gathering on September 23rd at the ATT Center. This will include a Silver Stars game at 2PM, followed by the Mass with Bishop Oscar Cantu. It is being billed as a family night. They will also have praise and worship at 4:30PM for about 30 minutes…The use of the Gathering Area is increasing. She will get together with John to create a “can and cannot” handout to help them know what is allowed. Some areas of the Gathering Area are NOT to be changed. Lucy: Darnell Waun will head up the Cantor Training. It was set for Tuesday, September 25th at 7PM in the Church. Msgr. Mike reminded the Staff that is the usual night for Monthly Adoration. There may be a conflict here…The Music Supplement file has been accepted. We are waiting on the printing but no date as of now. We have ordered 1K copies for our hymnal. Eric: There is a 5K Run for Life scheduled on Saturday, September 8th, at 7:30AM…Karaoke Night is scheduled for September 22nd…The next Young Adult Meeting will be Sunday, September 30th, at St. Mark’s, from 2:30-4:30PM…He attended the St. Padre Pio gathering and their shared process along with their ministry booklet as well…There will be a YA Mixer at St. Anthony de Padua, on October 19th, from 7:30PM-12:30AM…There will be a YA Leadership retreat on November 23-24th at HEB Camp. It is expected to be a small group. Those who have shown ministry interest and leadership are to be invited to come. This is being held in conjunction with St. Mark’s…Planning an extended trip to Austin TX to see “The Lion King” on January 27, 2013, Sunday, 6:30PM showing. Veronica: Thank you to all who helped with the Ministry Fair. It was successful even though the time to put everything together was minimal to hold it. The suggestion is to have a planning meeting prior to the next MF…This weekend, September 8-9th, will be sign up for Adult Education classes.me. We have also dropped the number of envelopes to about 2,500 families. That is a decrease of about 900. We are still culling those envelopes that are returned to the parish offices. We are also looking at changing envelope companies due to some of their lateness in changes we send. Msgr. Mike: He shared on the following items with the Staff:

Suggestion on the “Scholarship Dance” from the KC was to have each parish ministry purchase a table at $350, $35 per ticket, for a table of ten (10). The title is called “Denims and Hearts”.
